LG Appliance Repair
Alan Appliance Repair helps customers arrange repairs for LG kitchen and laundry appliances in Chicago and nearby suburbs. Tell us which appliance is affected, what changed and the model number so we can discuss an appropriate service visit.
Service requests accepted 24/7. Technician visits are by appointment and subject to availability.
Choose the appliance that needs attention
Refrigerators & freezers
Describe cooling changes, ice production, leaks or operating noise. Tell us which compartment is affected and whether an error is displayed.
Washers
Tell us whether the problem occurs while filling, washing, draining or spinning, and whether clothing or water remains inside.
Dryers
Describe heating, starting, drum movement or drying-time problems. Mention whether the dryer is gas, electric or stacked above a washer.
Dishwashers
Include leaks, drainage trouble, incomplete cycles or cleaning changes. Explain which stage of the cycle is affected.
Ovens
Specify bake, broil or the affected cavity on a double oven. Working controls with no heat differ from an unresponsive appliance.
Ranges
Describe cooktop and oven symptoms separately. Include the fuel type, model and any displayed message.
Prepare useful details for LG service
Have the brand, model and any displayed error ready. A photograph of an accessible label can be helpful. For stacked laundry equipment or a built-in appliance, describe the installation and access restrictions before the visit. Leave the appliance assembled and installed for the technician to assess.
Practical checks and service preparation
LG washer drainage: describe the stage and the code
If a washer leaves water inside, report whether it stopped during washing, draining or spinning and copy the exact error. LG identifies OE on covered front-load models as a drainage problem, with possible causes including a kinked hose or obstructed pump filter. The code describes a condition; it does not automatically select a replacement pump.
Check only safely accessible areas and the owner-maintenance procedure for the model. Do not force a locked door or open a filter while the machine contains hot water. Follow the specified power-off and residual-water handling steps if permitted maintenance is appropriate. For stacked equipment or uncertain access, leave the units installed and explain the arrangement when booking.
Dryer airflow and heating need separate descriptions
Tell us whether the drum turns, whether the load warms and whether drying takes longer than before. Include the selected cycle and whether the dryer is vented, a heat-pump model or part of a combination appliance. Advice about a conventional outside exhaust does not automatically apply to a different drying system.
On relevant LG vented models, d90 or d95 indicates a serious exhaust restriction that needs attention. Do not disable the warning or repeatedly restart to finish a load. Describe any visible crushed transition duct and the known exhaust route without moving stacked equipment or entering an unsafe location. Appliance diagnosis and a building’s vent-system service may involve different work, so confirm the scope.
Give kitchen-appliance symptoms their own context
For a refrigerator, separate fresh-food cooling, freezer performance, ice production and water dispensing. For a dishwasher, state whether the complaint is cleaning, draining, drying or leaking. For an oven, identify bake versus broil and the affected cavity. These distinctions make the initial request more useful than a broad statement that the appliance does not work.
Send the full model and any displayed message. Follow the correct manual for locks, delays and routine cleaning, and avoid undocumented reset sequences. Protect food when refrigeration is unreliable, stop using a leaking appliance and leave internal electrical or gas testing to appropriate service. Ask what the assessment found and what proposed work addresses that finding before approving a repair.
More questions about these symptoms
Should I send a photograph of an app notification?
If you already have a relevant notification or diagnostic result, include its exact wording and the time it appeared. Do not share your account password. An app message can supplement the model and physical symptoms, but it does not replace an assessment of the appliance and its installation.
Does an error code prove the same repair is needed on every LG model?
No. The appliance type, model and operating context matter. A code reported on a front-load washer should not be interpreted using instructions for a different product. Record the complete message and the cycle stage so the correct guidance can be used.
Manufacturer and safety references
Use the instructions for your exact model. Requests are accepted 24/7; technician visits are by appointment and subject to availability. Overnight visits are not guaranteed.
What happens after you request service?
- Share the model and symptoms. Include your city, address, contact number and access details.
- Confirm the appointment. We discuss availability and the diagnostic visit before arranging access.
- Review the findings. Ask about the proposed work, estimate, compatible parts and applicable coverage before approving a repair.
Care between service visits
Use the care instructions for your exact LG model. User-accessible filters, removable shelves and cleaning products vary between appliances. Maintenance intervals should follow the manufacturer’s guidance and the appliance’s usage rather than a universal schedule for every household.
Service questions
Does an error code identify the part to replace?
An error helps guide the assessment but does not by itself establish a failed component. Share the exact code and what the appliance was doing when it appeared.
Should I test internal electrical components before calling?
No internal testing is needed to make a service request. Describe symptoms observed during normal use; the technician handles the relevant diagnostic checks.
How are parts and warranty coverage handled?
Ask which parts are proposed, whether they are available for your model and what written coverage applies to the work. If you have manufacturer or extended coverage, check its terms before authorizing service.
