Ice clumps in the bin or will not dispense cleanly

Look at the ice already in the accessible bin without reaching into the dispenser mechanism. Describe whether cubes are loose, bridged together or frozen into a solid mass. Note how long the ice has been stored and whether the dispenser makes its usual sound when used normally. Do not repeatedly run a jammed mechanism to force the ice through.

Thermador’s ice guidance warns against sharp tools around ice-making components. Follow the model manual for any owner-removable bin and ordinary cleaning. Never use a knife, heat gun or improvised tool to break ice near an auger or dispenser. If a bin does not release normally, leave it in place for assessment.

Report any temperature warning, power interruption, door problem or softened food that occurred around the same time. Clumped ice is an observation, not proof of a specific defrost or compressor failure. A technician may need to evaluate temperature conditions and the dispenser separately. Keep the timeline and model available rather than ordering an ice-maker assembly based only on the bin’s appearance.
