The oven display is blank but the interior light works

Observe whether the screen is fully blank, simply dim or only missing part of its information. Note whether it responds to ordinary user controls and whether the clock or temperature returns intermittently. A photo taken in normal room lighting can help distinguish a brightness concern from a display that provides no usable information.

Thermador lists a blank display with working interior lights as a reason for service assessment. If the manual describes display brightness or standby settings, review those normal controls without entering service menus. Do not assume that every Professional or Masterpiece oven shares the same screen options or reset procedure.

If the display cannot reliably show or accept settings, stop relying on the oven for a cooking cycle. Tell the technician whether the problem followed a power interruption and whether heat or fan activity continued while the screen was dark. Avoid removing the control panel, probing wiring or repeatedly cycling power to obtain a temporary display.

Useful observations before you call

• Describe which functions remain visible or responsive and which are absent.
• Save any code that appears briefly when the screen returns.
• Identify the oven model and whether it is part of a combination installation.
